An answer to the Soft Food Diet question:
“But what can I eat?”
A list of soft foods is a start. Living on soft foods is another matter.
Following a Soft Food Diet for even a few weeks can be daunting. During my husband’s 18-month dental reconstruction, I learned how to adapt my cooking to his changing physical condition. Some days called for completely blended foods. Other days, we could add a little texture. Then the next procedure might mean going back to “First Foods” again. I was spending too much time researching, planning, and shopping.
The challenge was not simply finding recipes. It was finding ways to keep the joy in mealtime, get control of my kitchen time, and stay within our budget.
That's why I wrote The Soft Gourmet: Eating Well on a Soft Food Diet. This cookbook, full of recipes and strategies for cooking healthy, delicious soft foods, is your partner in boosting nutrition and banishing boredom following oral/maxillofacial surgery, dental implant reconstruction, or cancer treatment.
